2019 Reflections: Dream Big and Be Grateful!

Although the E-Nor blog is business – and analytics-oriented, I hope you’ll allow me a few moments of more personal reflection as this year draws to a close.

In previous years, we had already experienced tremendous growth but 2019 was truly phenomenal for E-Nor and in so many ways! We mustered the courage to dream big, and we set – and met – very aggressive growth goals, organically and through partnerships.

Thank you to E-Norians, thank you to our clients, and thank you to our partners and vendors.

I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude to everyone who has helped us along the way!

I’m grateful to E-Norians, without whose dedication we wouldn’t be the advisors that our clients and our community can trust and depend upon. My advice for hiring managers: look for people who love to learn, work hard, and are nice. Then nurture them, respect them, and remove obstacles from their path. Everything else takes care of itself.

I’m grateful to our clients, the lifeblood of our business! Over the years, we’ve had great client retention, and 2019 was no exception. I wholeheartedly thank each of our clients for engaging us in leveraging data to make better decisions. And I also want to thank those clients who were patient with us in the rare cases where we fumbled.

I’m also grateful to our partners and their constant product innovations. A special thanks to Google, and to so many individual GMP and GCP Googlers, for 11+ years of true partnership. Our partners enable us to build on their products to create added value for our clients. Our commitment is to invest more in our partnerships and continue innovating!

I’m grateful to our analytics community and the DAA, such a generous professional community with some of the brightest minds. I hope that our team’s contribution through our E-Nor blog and industry participation serve as small tokens of appreciation.

I’m also grateful to a few industry friends (competitors, you know who you are :)) who were open to have a conversation, to build trust, and to open the doors for significant collaboration in 2019, the results of which will only amplify and expand our capabilities in 2020!

In all these years since the founding of E-Nor in 2003, I’ve learned that you’re as good as the people you surround yourself with. As Steve Jobs said “Great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people” and I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by great people! 🙂

Last but not least, I’m grateful that our success has enabled us to support non-profits in the form of volunteer days as well as the financial contributions we’ve made. Collectively over the years, we’ve donated over $1.3M USD. I’m also grateful that E-Nor is in a position to work in countering the inequality and structural inequities in our workplace and economy that is, unfortunately, a reality. Individuals and businesses have a responsibility: don’t wait on someone else, do your part, share, give, advocate, and grow. As Tony Robbins said, “The secret of living is giving”!

Looking ahead, I see some sweeping changes to brace for, a whole lot of integrations to tackle, fewer cookies to work with, privacy considerations to adhere to and a maturing client base that demands and deserves the best.

2020 will mark a new era for us. I’m super excited about it! We’re taking a significant growth and partnerships as we continue to earn our leadership position in all things marketing data and analytics.

I’m ready for the new journey and hope you are too!

We invite all E-Norians to share their reflections and vision for analytics and our industry in 2020. My hope is that you find my thoughts and my colleagues’ contributions useful, actionable, and maybe even inspiring :).

PS: Shiraz Asif, our co-founder who passed in 2016, would have been so very proud of what we’ve accomplished in 2019 and where we’re taking the company in 2020 and beyond. We always remember you and miss you, Shiraz!
